Invisalign Treatment Dentists Plymouth Ann Arbor Clarkston MI

Invisalign® aligners are a great alternative to traditional metal braces and have become increasingly popular due to their discreet appearance and ease of use. If you’re considering Invisalign treatment, it is important to know what to expect during the process. For this reason, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Invisalign dentists in Plymouth, Ann Arbor, and Clarkston, MI.

In the meantime, here’s what you can expect during Invisalign treatment.

Initial Consultation and Treatment Planning

The first step in the Invisalign process is the initial consultation with one of our dentists. During this consultation, one of our Invisalign providers will examine your teeth and determine if Invisalign is the right treatment option for you. They will also discuss your treatment goals and answer any questions you may have.

If Invisalign aligners are determined to be the right treatment option for you, one of our dentists will take digital impressions of your teeth using a specialized scanner. These impressions will be used to create a 3D model of your teeth, which will be used to plan your treatment.

Treatment Plan and Aligner Fabrication

Using the 3D model of your smile, we’ll create a treatment plan that outlines how your teeth will be moved to achieve the desired results. Our dentists will also determine how long your treatment will take and how many aligners you will need.

Once the treatment plan has been finalized, the Invisalign clear aligners will be fabricated. Each set of aligners is custom-made to fit your smile and is designed to gradually move your teeth into their correct positions.

Wearing Your Invisalign Aligners

Once your Invisalign clear aligners are ready, you will begin wearing them. You will wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching to the next set in the series. Each set of orthodontic aligners is designed to gradually shift your teeth into their correct positions.

It is important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, brush, and floss. Failure to wear your aligners as directed can prolong your treatment time and may affect the final results.

Follow-Up Appointments

During your Invisalign treatment, you will have regular follow-up appointments with one of our dentists. These appointments are typically scheduled every 6 to 8 weeks and are used to monitor your progress and ensure that your treatment is on track.

At these appointments, your dentist will assess your teeth and may make adjustments to your treatment plan as needed. They may also provide you with additional aligners if necessary.

Completion of Treatment

Once your treatment is complete, we’ll give you an orthodontic retainer. This retainer is designed to hold your teeth in their new positions and prevent them from shifting back. Please be advised that you’ll need to wear your retainer as directed by our Invisalign dentists. That way, you’ll be able to enjoy your new and improved smile for the rest of your life!

If you ever damage or lose your retainer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Main Street Dentistry. We’d be more than happy to take new impressions of your teeth to replace your old retainer.

Our main goal is to ensure you keep the results of all your hard work! As your local family dental offices, we remain dedicated to our patients long after the completion of Invisalign treatment.
